How it started

Reese Kelsey, professionally known as Sequoia, began DJing at 19 with the goal of building a career in the music and live events industry. Her early involvement in Orlando’s technology and startup community gave her the opportunity to perform at local networking events, technology conferences, startup showcases, and launch parties. These experiences helped her establish herself within the city’s event scene. At 23, Reese launched her own DJ company and began turning that early momentum into a full-time professional career.

Today, Sequoia DJs and MCs at corporate events, nightlife venues, resorts, theme parks, and private celebrations throughout Central Florida. Her work ranges from creating polished soundtracks for professional gatherings to bringing high-energy music to clubs, major attractions, and large-scale events.

The Sound

Sequoia’s sound is centered around upbeat, recognizable music with a strong foundation in Top 40, EDM, and house. Her music library also includes modern dance tracks and favorites from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, including disco, classic rock, R&B, throwback pop, and signature songs that instantly transport audiences back to each era.

Her extensive knowledge of these genres allows her to move naturally between recognizable crowd favorites and deeper dance selections, adjusting the energy throughout her set based on what is connecting in the room.

Beyond performing live, Sequoia also produces original music and DJ mixes that have earned more than 80,000 streams across digital platforms, continuing to develop her sound both behind the booth and in the studio.

More Than Music

Reese’s work extends beyond the DJ booth. As an entrepreneur active in Orlando’s technology and startup community, she has participated in and won multiple startup competitions. These experiences have helped shape the launch of her company, Crowd Current, in 2025.

Crowd Current is an audience engagement and live event operations platform built specifically for live entertainment. It gives venues, live performers, and event teams one place to manage guest interaction while making the flow of live events simpler behind the scenes.

By combining her firsthand experience as an entertainer with her background in entrepreneurship, Reese is building tools designed around the real needs of the people creating, managing, and experiencing live events.
